Everyone has something that pisses them off and its good to get it off your chest now and again.
I'll start off.
I hate it when your on your lunch break and someone thinks your the manager in a supermarket and asks you a question.
Never wear a blue shirt in Woolies.

On ya FAB!
I get so pissed off that the two supermarkets seem to play this game of "let's see how much we can get away with charging"
Today is was fruit juice - the same price as a bottle of beer? Soft cheese - small change out of ten bucks?

Fab & Fergy>
Could be an entertaining Topic Boys ! Well done. As an old white collar type, in younger days, I had a habit of wondering around McEwans (it eventually morphed into Bunnings) in the lunch hour ... and yes, I'd get approached re questions but with my history I knew every nook & cranny and would help direct people ..... gee I'm a helpful type !
Sorry to hear about you being stuck with the big two big super-merchants. I'm with Aldi for decent quality, restricted range but all necessities at $20-$30 less per shop per week.
Will get back onto this topic at another time ..... right now my wife is still talking about the earth tremor in Melbourne tonight .... the question arisers "did the earth move for you tonight, Dear?".

I could plaster this thread on an hourly basis with things that piss me off!
What does at the moment..is the whinging about how we are held to ransom by Coles and Woolworths...poor bloody us!
If we werent so bloody lazy..we would seek out the local people...grocers, butchers,Aldi ( yet another superchain but an alternative)...IGA, local suppliers and markets, bulk stores etc...and take our buying power elsewhere....WE have what C&W want...WE...create their profit margins....WE..have only ourselves to blame for the choices shrinking to a basic few...
There isnt a law that says we HAVE to buy from them....why do people complain as if there is?
The locals have gone..because WE didnt support them....easier to be lazy and tread the time-saving, lower quality path...
Change who you buy from..and see how C&W panic and react to flagging sales...
WE have power over them you know...its called money...sick of the monoliths?..vote with your wallets.
Or stop bloodywell whinging about it!
cheers.

The inventor of the "Laugh Track" pisses me off...without it...99.99% of the American sitcom" comedies" we have to endure would never have been made...
Gimme the King and Bert again...Paul Hogan...The Big Gig...hell, even as far back as "The Dave Allen Show"...to name a few..spontanious laughter for genuinely funny people. I am being flooded with un-funny, non-topical Americans...thank christ it's free-to-air...
I wouldnt pay to watch it.

I'm with Gary, here. Aldi's can save you At least $20-$30 of your average grocery bill. The product range is smaller, and not so diversified, but the quality is as good, and sometimes better, than the big name brands.
As for whinges, it is stupid Prime Ministers and treasurers who think they know what they are doing with the economy, and stupid financial 'experts' who actually believe the prpoganda that they saved Australia from the global meltdown.
Oh!, and I'll go along with what Steve says about TV programs. I only watch ABC or SBS now. Far too much American trash on the commercial channels. (except 7 2, with some English programs.)

People who get on the train before everyone get off infuriates me for some reason. I think it's just the straw that breaks the camel's back sometimes. But it's just such an easy thing to do, a small gesture of politeness. Not jsut the young scallywags too, you see people do it of all ages!

My whinge is about the people who pull out in front of you while you're doing 80-110km/h, forcing you to slow down when there's about 10 km of open road behind you if they would have waited the extra 3 seconds - only to turn off about 500 metres down the road, forcing you to slow down again!

Another one is people who can't put their iPhones down for 10 seconds to look at you and have a proper conversation with you when you're talking to them - people who would rather Facebook than have an actual real Face-to-face conversation.
(I'm Gen Y by the way)

Saw a woman in a restaurant takling on her phone all evening while her partner took photos of her on his phone for about 20 minutes.
What happened to one on one conversation.
Told my wife about it but she had her headphones on.

Steve C makes a valid point about supporting local shops. I have about 22 local shops 7 min walk away. The local butcher and greengrocer have closed in just recent months ... and yes I was a supporter. I gave Marg the owner of the fruit & veg a card & bot of wine on her second last day and she cried. Gave me a kiss and that made me feel OK. I support my milk bar for the odd basics, a regular (but ordinary) coffee nearly every day and a paper most days (since I stopped home delivery) + I admit to buying a dollar pack of mixed lollies (going back to my childhood). I get bread or pie or fancy stuff at Brumby's, special sandwishes at the bakery cafe, all drugs at the pharmacy, lotto etc at the Post Office and mainly specials at the IGA (ord prices are too high) & printer thingoes at Cartridge World. Over the years these local traders are the ones who've supported my community events and my loyalty repays them. Don't whinge if you find they're gone from your area if you haven't given neighbourhood loyalty.
Farmers find themselves at the mercy of the two big s/mkts principally because they fail to spread the risk ie. to reduce risk, diversity supply sources and diversify customers ... but initially they find the big deals too easy until the big boys apply the screws and that's what's happening. Why buy a home brand - Coles gets a bigger margin and often those products are imported (even more than Aldi's equiv prods).

what pisses me off are people who travel along the hiway at 80-90 k per hr then when they get to the passing lanes speed up to about 110 k so people can't pass, then get back in the single lane and drop back to 80-90 k per hr what's doing there

Greg56 I see that all the time, no idea why people do that. There must be heaps of people out there that take pleasure in the misery of others!

Crickey, in front of all those people, God, I hate that. LOL.
