Come on fellas, don't let Kevin Rudd have all the glory of having an oil change and new plugs. Apart from me, who else has a new heart valve, and how are they working?

Not me - LW. But was the cow killed humanely?

It's all magical what the surgeons do. Trust you're keeping the preventive maintenance program active.

Hi Les,

I believe that to have one of those operations, one has to firstly have a heart. I have been told a number of times that I don't have a heart. Could that be the reason why I haven't needed that op ??

No doubt Gazza, with all his knowledge and wisdom will have some comment to add. He will probably refer me to a medical trial in Victoria, just to get me out of Qld.

All the best mate,

Robert

No Gary, you got it all wrong, they didn't kill a cow for me they made my valve out of steel. You know like nuts and bolts.  I don't have to go back for a replacement like Kevin, I just drink some valve grinding past and it comes up like new. No piggy parts in me Ha Ha. Anyway they tell me that they don't kill animals for their body parts, they only use road kill Lol   Les

Hi leslie   my name is Kevin (but not Rudd) I had a valve replacement 3 years ago.A bovine or cow tissue

aorta valve replacement was used to reduce the pain and severe shortness of breath         that  I  experiencing. The sharp pains no longer occur ,but the shortness of breath has only shown minimul improvement. But I am quite ok with that .The frustration of taking so long to do tasks in the garden and around the house gets to me at times ,until I realise how much better off I am than many others .        Sometimes at night I can hear the valve operating ,a very strange sensation.

If mine lasts as long as the other Kevins' I'll be 87 and extremely happy.

Hope you are having success with new parts

                                                                                            regards ..kayjay

Hi Kevin, well it is nice to know that you are getting on OK, I still suffer a bit from shotness of breath after four and a half years, mostly when a beautiful blond walks by. But with all other work it doesn't seem to worry me, and I have noticed a big improvement in this last year.  I seem to have suffered from the anasetic and finding it hart to remember things, but now that is improving. I go in the heated pool 3 times a week and do all the excersises, that seems to keep me going OK. I hope your life keeps on improving in the future best of luck  Les
