Bayside Men's Shed activity
The video below was put together by members of Bayside Men's Shed.
It demonstrates the making of a tissue box holder, using a material called corian. Corian is manufactured from natural minerals and acrylic resin and is often used to make benchtops. Corian is waterproof, and is easy to shape and smooth.
Alternatively, you could use solid timber to make these tissue box holders if you prefer. The Bayside Men's Shedders constructed a jig to use when cutting the corian pieces to size. This acts as a template, allowing them to make multiple box holders with ease.
Once the pieces are cut, they use a router to make a hole in the top piece of the box to allow the tissues to be pulled through. The pieces are then glued and clamped.
The final product is an attractive piece to display in a bathroom or kitchen.
